Camden Catholic’s Michelle Vittese continues to lead her team in scoring and she would add to that total against the Lady Eagles from Paul VI. In an Olympic Conference and important National Division field hockey game against the Eagles, the Lady Irish needed just one more divisional victory to clinch the title. Seneca was that team in their rear view mirror looking to find a way to sneak up and tie Camden Catholic in the standings. But Vittese would score two goals for the Lady Irish to lead them past Paul VI by a 5-0 score.
Clinching the title was just the first step for Camden Catholic in achieving their goal to play well as the regular season ends and carry that momentum well into the South Group II tournament. During their previous game, Washington Township would end Camden Catholic’s eleven game unbeaten streak. Today’s game would be the first of three regular scheduled games remaining. The Irish would defeat Paul VI for the second time this season. Annie Casserly, Jessica Falcone and Kathleen Notos all scored a goal to complete the scoring for Camden Catholic. Michele DePasquale picked up the shutout in goal for the Irish.
