What a difference a year makes for the Lady Cougars field hockey team from Cherry Hill West high school. Camden Catholic and Bishop Eustace from the start of a season have primarily dominated the Olympic Conference National division. This year, the Cougars are right in the thick of things and look to make a run at capturing the title. West jumped out to a two-goal lead in the first half and cruised to a 4-1 victory against Camden Catholic. Marissa Wisniewski scored a goal in each half to lead the Cougars.
This game had a bit more meaning to Cherry Hill West as they were facing a team that has been finding a way to defeat them. Camden Catholic were playing host to the Cougars but that didn't mean much to West. Wisniewski and Leslie Gilman got together at the twenty-five minute mark for the game's first goal. Wisniewski was apart of the next goal as she assisted Liza Miriana in giving West a 2-0 lead. The start of the second half was about the same as the first, as Leslie Gilman (assisted by Kristin Thomson) and Wisniewski rounded out the scoring for West. Lauren Brady avoided the shutout for the Lady Irish with her late goal near the end of the game.
