The Camden High Panthers got the job done, it wasn't spectacular but they got the job done. In a South Jersey Group 3 championship against Middle Township at Eastern High School, the Panthers were clearly the favorites in this game. Dajuan Wagner and the Panthers woke up and finally put away a close game with a 57-46 win. The first half of this game was a very low scoring event that seemed to give Middle Township and their fans the momentum.
Middle Township came right out of the gate determined to establish their perimeter game. That tactic didn't phase the Panthers a Wagner put up 14 first half points. The Panthers defense held Middle Township to only five points in the first quarter, but they would outscore Camden in the second quarter. Camden still led at the half with a 25-19 lead.
The second half saw Middle Township working hard looking for the right chance to fire up the shot. When it was the right time, they launched a shot. If it went in, their fans would show their appreciation with a very loud cheer. That noise didn't stop Wagner as he responded to every challenge Township put up. Wagner led all scorers with 32 points. Camden will go up against Neptune in the state semifinals game.
