High School Basketball: Thursday, March 9, 2006 By Art Redd The coaches usually can tell at the start of a basketball season when the roster has been finalized on which players have made the team. Only in their second year in the league, LEAP Academy's coach Macro Marcos knew he had a very talented team that had a good chance of making it to the state finals. The Lancers will get their chance to prove their coach right as their 106-75 rout over Bordentown moved them into Group 1 state finals against Bloomfield Tech. Five players finished in double figures for the Lancers. |
High School Basketball: Friday, January 13, 2006 By Jason Brown There are several obstacles that teams must overcome in order to improve on their accomplishments. The Scotties from Bordentown were participating in their fourth Burlington County League Patriot Division game of the season and Westampton Tech was the next team on their schedule. Bordentown would be looking to extend their winning streak to two games in a row after their loss to division leading Burlington City, a team that continues to stand in their way. The Scotties’ defense took control of this game but their offense would be the reason they won it. Three players finished in double figures as Bordentown posted an 82-38 win over the Panthers. |

Holy Cross would take control of this game during the second and third quarter to expand their single digit lead into double digits. High School Football: Saturday, October 29, 2005 By Vincent Lewis On a day when the Panthers would be honoring several new members with their induction to the Hall of Fame, Palmyra would be looking for a way to cap off the celebrations by picking up a win against Bordentown in a Burlington County/Olympic League Freedom Division game. A victory would be even sweeter for Palmyra as they look to assure themselves a five hundred record to qualify for the upcoming Group 1 tournament. Trailing by a touchdown at halftime, the Panthers would give the Hall of Fame crowd a lot to cheer about as Palmyra’s two fourth quarter scores would provide an exciting comeback. Palmyra would score the winning touchdown with 58.9 seconds remaining and defeat Bordentown 12-7. |
