The Lady Crusaders from Bishop Eustace knew they were expected to make it to the finals of the girls’ Non-Public South B soccer finals. During the regular season, they played very well and were rewarded the top seed in this year’s tournament. Not looking past their game against the fifth seeded St. Rose squad, the Crusaders were focused on this game and it showed on the field. Bishop Eustace’s defense only allowed two shots on goal and the offense scored in both halves of this game. The Crusaders would advance to the finals with their 4-0 victory.
Bishop Eustace started out this game winning just about every ball. Gwen Conte scored the only goal of the first half giving the Crusaders the lead at intermission. That’s when Meaghan DiBiase scored the first goal of the second half giving Bishop Eustace a two goal lead. She was not done as her second goal of the game appeared to be more than enough momentum for the defense to preserve the win. Jaime Medes scored the final goal of this game and Bishop Eustace now will face Gloucester Catholic in the sectional finals.
