The South B bracket of the Central Jersey Group I boy’s soccer tournament definitely proves that on any given day, a true upset can happen. Bishop Eustace has proven all season long that they are a group that play well together as a single unit and win. Gloucester Catholic had put together a season winning those games they needed to qualify for the tournament. The Rams’ effort early on rewarded them with a one goal lead that they were able to hold off the Crusaders relentless efforts to tie this game. Two halves of keeper T.J. Delengowski coming up with save after save allow Gloucester Catholic to advance to the next round.
The Rams from Gloucester Catholic were the fifth seeded team in the bracket traveling to Bishop Eustace who was seeded in the fourth position. It was a game that the team that took full advantage of their situations would come out on top. Larry Zuccato was in the right place to receive the ball and deposited the ball into the next. From that point on, Bishop Eustace would pick up the intensity by controlling most of the play but just could not get that ball into their opponents’ net. When the final count down was indicated, Gloucester Catholic would be on the winning end of this exciting boy’s soccer game. The Rams will now travel to top seeded St. Joseph Hammonton in a semi-finals game.
