The Lady Crusaders from Bishop Eustace were hosting an Olympic Conference National Division match-up against their neighboring rivals Camden Catholic. These two teams met in last year’s South Jersey Group 2 semifinals with the Lady Irish advancing to the finals with their 1-0 win. Today, the two squared off with Camden Catholic taking the early one goal advantage. The Crusaders would score three unanswered goals to pick up not only the 3-1 victory, but an all important division win.
Home advantage doesn’t really matter when it comes to these teams. Both have their fan support right there with them making it seem just like home. Kelly Simpson gave those visiting fans something to cheer about when her goal gave the Irish the early lead. Eustace would tie the game before the break on Eve Vitale’s goal and both teams knew it would take a strong second half to win. Annie Taft and Jordan Savruda were the results of a team effort to score twice in the second half to pick up the victory.
