Starting pitcher Nick Iannucci got the call to begin Bishop Eustace's quest to capture the South Jersey Parochial B baseball championship. Already, the Crusaders have captured the Olympic Conference National Division title and were looking for more. In their way in the opening round were fifth seeded Mater Dei. Anthony Ragona provide enough runs himself with two home runs in the game giving Iannucci all the support he needed. Bishop Eustace coasted to a 10-1 victory to advance to the semifinals.
In the bottom of the second inning, Eustace quickly erased a slim one run deficit scoring four runs. Key hitting by Joe Ambrozy completed the inning when his single scored two runs with two outs. With that lead, Eustace began to relax and then have fun. Anthony Ragona hammered a solo shot in the third inning giving the Crusaders a comfortable 5-1 lead.
The fourth seeded Crusaders would complete their assault in the sixth inning when Ragona stepped up to the plate with a man on first base. His second home run of the game was just icing on the cake as Bishop Eustace will now face the number one seeded Moorestown Friends in the semifinals.
