It's an honor that teams should take full advantage of their accomplishments during the regular season. Representing the South Jersey Group II girls' soccer tournament were top seeded Green Wave from Audubon. With their number one label, Audubon would have the luxury of hosting every game as long as they keep winning. Today, Jordan Wright would help Audubon keep their quest to the finals alive. Her two first half goals scored against ninth seeded Point Pleasant Boro built a lead that they were able to maintain for both halves of this quarterfinals game. Audubon would advance by shutting out Point Pleasant by a 3-0 margin. The Green Wave will now host the fourth seeded Garnets from Haddon Heights.
Audubon started out this game pressuring their opponents' defense and was rewarded with a 1-0 lead when Wright scored off an assist by Sam Merryfield. The two worked together again on Audubon’s next goal and their lead had doubled. The defense would dominate both halves and never let Boro have too many scoring chances. With their two goal lead at the start of the second half, Audubon continued to show why they were successful during the regular season. Sara Hill would score the final goal of this game and the Green Wave would advance to the semifinals.
