There's always that expectation that the seeding designated for a team should determine the outcome of a game. The higher seed, in this case Audubon hosting Sterling, is the favorite to come away with the victory. Well the sixth seeded Green Wave from Audubon didn't disappoint the predictions when they took on the Silver Knights from Sterling who was the eleventh seed in the South Jersey Group 2 bracket. Three key hits during the bottom of the second inning proved to be the difference in this game as Audubon advanced to the next round with their 4-1 victory. Next up for Audubon would be a trip to third seeded Woodstown.
Starting pitcher Tim Boldurian has faced Sterling before and knew that the Knights are capable of scoring runs in bunches. The first time Audubon hosted Sterling, they had to rally from behind during the late innings to pick up the win. This time, the reverse happened as Audubon built on their one run lead by scoring three times during the second inning. Kevin Urban and Steve Rizzo came through with runs batted in singles helping the Green Wave to build a lead that Sterling would not recover from. Boldurian only gave up two hits and allowing just a single run to score during the sixth inning.
