Right in the middle of the first weekend of high school sports, it was field hockey instead of football that was played Saturday afternoon at Audubon High School. Today's action matched up the Lady Panthers from Pitman going up against the Green Wave. Pitman was not very hospitable as they marched in and right out of Audubon with a shut out victory. Jaci Myers, Tina Weil and Danielle Soliai all scored for Pitman as they posted a three nothing shut out.
Both of these teams lost their opening games yesterday and were looking to even their record. Pitman lost their Tri-County Conference game to Gloucester Catholic by a 3 to 2 margin. Audubon also dropped their Colonial Conference game against Haddon Township 3 to 0. Today's game featured a non-league game early in this season.
The Lady Panthers established the tone early as they as Pitman got on the scoreboard. Caroline Ormstrom stopped six shots as she preserved the shutout. Next up for the Panthers was their third straight game on the road. They will travel to Schalick on Monday and then their first home game on Wednesday against Overbrook. Audubon's next chance to get their first win will be on Wednesday when they host West Deptford.
