By Joanne Costantino Jannie Lo is coming into her junior year at Rutgers University. She lives in Cherry Hill but is originally from Philadelphia. An all around athlete with diverse interests, Jannie's first love in sports is Volleyball. While in High School, she had played lacrosse, field hockey, tennis and bowled, but none of them 'did it' for Jannie. This diminutive young lady is, at 4' 11 1/2", a pretty effective player and acknowledges that she can't compare to the power of the taller players, but makes up in other areas with well honed skills and techniques that make her a big asset to her team. Being "vertically challenged" has not held her back from being an athlete. Jannie has credited her coaches and team captains through high school and college for instilling the confidence to play volleyball regardless of her height. She loves the game, the competition, and it helps her to keep in shape. Jannie is currently a Criminal Justice major at Rutgers but is considering switching to focus on the Pharmacy Program. Whatever the future holds for her, she'll deal with that as it happens. Jannie is a very positive person with a cheery personality. She is not one to dwell on the negative of anything. Typical of her personality, Jannie offers her favorite quote, "There are good times and bad, but after the rain, up comes the sun. Look for the rainbow and shine, shine, shine."
