By Joanne Costantino Brandy Meacham is a very result oriented person, as seen in her numerous achievements, especially her athletic achievements. Brandy has recently been named All-American among the National Strength and Conditioning Association athletes. This particular award is in recognition of those who have excelled in strength and conditioning along with community involvement, academic achievement and leadership qualities. Brandy Meacham has completed her junior season as a forward on the Rutgers-Camden women's basketball team. She averages 7 points and 6 rebounds per game. She also is part of the Lady Raptor's track team and competes in field events, but just recently was a member of the sprint relay team that established a school record (4:53.9) at the Pioneer Relays in April. Her favorite players are Kym Hampton, Charles Barkley and Charles Oakley and at 5'9" Brandy is, by her own report, an aggressive and disciplined player. She has been playing basketball for approximately 11 years, but also enjoys playing tennis and racquetball, just for the exercise. She plans to continue on to graduate school right after graduation and will focus her studies on Psychology and Education which should prepare her well for her mission of giving something back to her community. Her tastes in music are primarily jazz with one of her favorites being "Human Nature" by Miles Davis, but she also enjoys Kenny G. When Brandy finds time to watch TV, she likes "The Simpsons". Her most recent favorite movies are Drew Barrymore's "Ever After" and Eddy Murphy's "Delirious". Brandy finds endless support and influence within her family and notes that one of her role models is conditioning Coach Graig White.
