Winning Ways (FYI): The Mental Athlete Tuesday, February 10, 2004 By Gregory "Graig" White This publication, like most of this type, was written for the athlete who may have an idea as to what is creating the performance drains on them but not fully prepared to go and seek professional help. Don't get me wrong, I thought that the book was thought provoking but sometimes didn't go far enough into concepts that I believe may be of more help to the reader. Kay Porter's ability to get all of the information she did into 224 pages was impressive, I thought it was an easy read and flowed from one chapter to the next really well, this publication I would recommend to a coach who may be just starting out and may be working to get a better understanding of team and group dynamics. In a case like that, this book would be a great way to create a firm foundation and assist the coach to getting to the next level. |
