Volleyball Spotlight: Rams Sweep Devils Tuesday, November 2, 2004 By Bob Heller Philadelphia University's women's volleyball team completed a home-and-home sweep of USP last night as they defeated Devils 3-0 at the Bobby Morgan Arena. The Rams took a hard-fought first game 34-32, easily breezed through the second, winning 30-18, and cruised through the final game winning 30-20. The loss, the Devils sixth in their last nine matches, drops the Devils overall record to 17-13. Emily Roth (Jr., Dallastown HS/York, PA) recorded 13 kills and 13 digs to pace the Devils anemic offense. USP had just 29 kills hitting just .127 compared to the Rams' 54 kills and .339 attack percentage. Roth also had five blocks on the evening (2 solo). Lindsey Wenderoth (Fr., Owings Mills HS/Owings Mills, MD) led the Devils with 18 digs. |
