Volleyball Spotlight: Devils Fall to Rams Wednesday, September 29, 2004 By Bob Heller Emily Roth and Lindsey Wenderoth each recorded a double-double with career highs in digs but the USP women's volleyball team fell to area rival Philadelphia University 3-1 last night at Harris Gymnasium on the Rams' campus. Roth (Jr., Dallastown HS/York, PA) led the Devils with 16 kills and 37 digs. Her dig count ties her career high set last season against Teikyo Post University. Wenderoth (Fr., Owings Mills HS/Owings Mills, MD) had 10 kills and a career-high 31 digs. Raeann Petruccelli (So, The Gunnery, New Milford, CT) had 29 assists setting for the Devils attack. USP dropped the first two games 30-25 and 30-23 before winning game three 30-28. The Devils then dropped the final game 30-23. USP is now 9-5 overall. USP returns to conference action on Thursday, September 30th when they take on Georgian Court University at The Bobby Morgan Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m. |
