South Jersey Basketball: Sunday, March 26, 2000
By Bob Stewart On Sunday at Overbrook High School in Pine Hill, a Basketball Tournament was held for girls and boys between the ages of 11-13. It was called the Tri-Town Basketball Tournament because it was made up of teams representing Berlin Township, Clementon Borough, and Pine Hill Borough. The girl's tournament became a Bi-tournament when Pine Hill was unable to attend. The girls from Berlin Township, named The Liberty, and Clementon played well, running up and down the floor, making great passes and plays, and having fun. There were even a couple of three pointers and blocked shots. In the first game of the best of 3 series, Berlin Township jumped out to a 17 to 3 half time score over Clementon. In the second half, Berlin Township scored 9, while Clementon scored 12. Berlin Township ended winning the first game 25-15. Later in the afternoon, it was the boys' turn. Photos by Boog Williams
