South Jersey Baseball: Friday, August 12, 2005 By Dan Loney (Trenton, NJ)- The Akron Aeros pounded out 13 hits off Thunder pitching and the Thunder's Shelley Duncan hit his 30th home run of the year as the Aeros topped the Trenton Thunder, 7-2, on Friday night at Waterfront Park. The Aeros started the scoring in the second as Eider Torres had a two out, two run single. Torres would later score on a Matt DeSalvo wild pitch. Thunder 1B Shelley Duncan hit his 30th HR of the year in the second inning. Duncan became just the second player in Thunder history to hit 30 home runs in a season, joining Mitch Jones (2004). The Aeros continued their red hot hitting as Ryan Mulhern extended his hitting streak to 20 games and Brad Snyder extended his to 15 games with a solo HR in a fifth. Matt DeSalvo took the loss for the Thunder, pitching 6.1innings, allowing 6 runs all of them earned.
