It was the third straight loss the Riversharks who scored four runs on
just five hits. The Riversharks were able to pull even at 4-4 after seven
inning, but the Ducks scored four times in the final two innings to pull away
with the win. Quincy Foster had three hits and scored a pair of runs as he reached
base al four times up. The game itself went back and forth through the
first three innings as Long Island scored a run in each of the first three
innings to build a 3-2 lead.
Brett Laxton took the loss for the Riversharks as he allowed 13 hits
and six earned runs in just over seven innings of work. Joe Cotton
recorded two outs in the seven inning to 3-0 on the year.
The Riversharks made a run at the Ducks in the bottom of the ninth
inning as they scored one run and brought the tying run to the plate, but Jordan
Zimmerman retired Tom Hage and Stoney Briggs for his first save of the season.
The Riversharks and Long Island Ducks will do it again on Saturday
