Sharks Edge Surf in a Walk, Fans Win Slice of Pizza

The Sharks managed to load the bases in the bottom of the seventh down one run. Two walks proceeded allowing Camden to tie and then win the game by a 5-4 score. The teams traded runs in the first inning and had a scoreless second inning in which the fans each won a free slice of pizza for a strikeout. The Surf slipped ahead with a 3-2 third inning to make it four to three but the lead wasn’t enough. The fans won a second slice of pizza before the seventh inning walk fest.
The Sharks lost any chance of winning the first half of the season with a 6-1 loss to the Atlantic City Surf on Saturday. The win today will have little effect for the Sharks as the first half is already decided and the second half doesn’t start until after the all star break. The Surf and the Sharks are dead even on the season with four wins each. The evenly matched teams meet one more time in the first half, tomorrow Monday July 12, 2004 with an unusual 10:00AM start.
The All Star game will be played right here at Campbell field Wednesday.
