South Jersey Baseball: Saturday, July 10, 2004 By Chuck Betson The Atlantic City Surf clinched the first half South Division title, Saturday night in Camden with a 6-1 win over the Riversharks. The title reserves a spot for the Surf in the Atlantic League playoffs at the end of the season. As has been the case all season, the Surf combined good pitching with good hitting. The Surf were led by three of their seven all-stars. Starter Ray Davis allowed only one run and five hits in his seven and a third innings pitched, Ryan Minor collect four of the Surf''s fourteen base knocks, and catcher Melvin Rosario connected for his fourth home run. The Surf will finish out the first half on Sunday and Monday in Camden before opening the second half of the season on Friday, July 16th against the Somerset Patriots at 6:35pm.
