Athlete Spotlight: Wednesday, May 26, 1999
By Joanne Costantino Chris Catania is soon to become a senior at Edgewood High School. He is a well-rounded athlete that participates in different sports and is a good student. His favorite subject is Science and his least favorite is English. If his sports activities had to be pared down to just one sport he would choose wrestling over football. He has been wrestling for about 10 years and gets great self-satisfaction from the efforts, win or lose. Although college is just around the corner, Chris hasn't really started serious considerations, but he sure would like to attend Hawaii Pacific University. He likes the ocean air and would pursue a career in Marine Biology. Chris' favorite past-time outside of school is riding his motorcycle and watching TV. He likes the group Lynard Skynard, his favorite song is "Free Bird" and his favorite actor is the late comic Chris Farley. His personal goals and ambitions are to be successful in school, graduate and just have a good life. These goals he credits to his Dad's influence. He says, "He pushes me to do the best that I can." And so it seems that Chris does the best he can, a young man with a truly positive attitude in just about anything.
