Pennsauken Football Powers its Way to Win Saturday, September 24, 2005 By Gregory White On what turned out to be a perfect day to play football, the Pennsauken High School football team put on a display that could go down as one for the ages. They clicked on all cylinders for most of the game, and dare I say dominated another really good football squad. Don’t get me wrong, Washington Township did not come in and just roll over they competed the whole game and the athletes and coaches should be commended for their effort. |

Lancers' Offense Does Not Slow Down at Cinnaminson Friday, September 23, 2005 By Jerome Michaels It’s something that you would never want to see, but it’s a situation that a team must be ready for. Leading by a touchdown at Cinnaminson High School, starting quarterback Tony Santino for Holy Cross had to leave the game due to an injury. At that moment it’s time for the backup to enter the game and continue to follow the game plan without hesitation. When Tom Reilly entered the game, he was involved in the Lancers’ four touchdown explosion scored in the second quarter to ignite a Holy Cross victory. Reilly connected with Rob Deveney twice and Holy Cross would defeat Cinnaminson by a 47-7 margin. |

Highland's Defense Record another Win Friday, September 23, 2005 By Jerome Michaels Based on what has happened so far, it would be safe to say that Highland's boy's soccer team has gotten off to a good start this season. By winning five of their first six games, the Tartans are sitting on top of the Tri-County Conference Royal Division. Each one of Highland's victories has resulted in the defense keeping their opponents from scoring any goals. Delsea's efforts would come up short as Mike Cullen netted three goals highlighting Highland's 6-0 victory at home. Mike Flacco would pick up his third straight shutout in the net for the Tartans. |

Cumberland Stay One Step Ahead of Deptford Friday, September 23, 2005 By Clark Washington For the first half of this boy's soccer game held at Deptford High School, the Colts from Cumberland and the Spartans patiently maneuvered themselves back and forth in each others end of the field looking for that opportunity of putting that soccer ball into their opponents net. Neither team had success scoring during the first forty minutes which left the coaching staff making adjustment during the break. Cumberland would finally break the scoreless tie by scoring two quick goals to pull in front of a determined Spartans squad. The Colts would add one more goal and preserve the shutout as goalie Kyle Bayzick turned away every shot that came his way. |

West Work Their Way Past Timber Creek Thursday, September 22, 2005 By Susan Hall So far this season, Cherry Hill West has done what most had thought the Lady Lions soccer team could do. That is to win those games they were supposed to win and remain competitive on the field. That effort has rewarded the Lions with a four game winning streak to open the season. No team should ever be considered as an easy team to beat because there will always be eleven players on the field working hard. Timber Creek was that team standing in the way of West picking up their fifth win of the season. Arielle Caldas was responsible for giving the Lions the early lead in this Olympic Conference game. Cherry Hill West would pick up the shutout as keeper Kristen De’Ambra preserved the 3-0 victory. |
