High School Girls Lacrosse: Lower Cape May's Inexperience Shows in Loss To Delran Friday, April 26, 2002 By Gary Steiner The growth of girls lacrosse in South Jersey has caused some teams to take some long bus rides, as happened today when the Lady Tigers for Lower Cape May visited the Lady Bears of Delran. There are still only 24 girls lacrosse teams which make up the Olympic Conference, whereas in other sports you have enough teams to make more geographically compatible divisions. Thus, the Lady Tigers had to endure a 90 mile trip to play this game. They showed the inexperience of their first year program, as Delran sent them back home with a 17-1 loss. |
Event Spotlight: Bullies Even Series With 4-3 Win Friday, April 26, 2002 By Mike Williams ATLANTIC CITY - Game two on Friday night versus the Dayton Bombers was a game that the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies absolutely needed. Instead, Atlantic City's work on the night made for a whole new series in a night fraught with dicey moments for the home club. The Bullies used four goals on the power play to hold onto a 4-3 win over the Bombers before 4,192 at Boardwalk Hall. Daniel Lacroix's goal with 1:10 nailed down the win.
