South Jersey Ice Hockey: Sunday, December 19, 1999

The Hollydell Hurricanes Pee Wee hockey team implemented a new offensive system two weeks ago and it's beginning to pay off in goals scored. In the two games this weekend, the Hurricanes netted 17 goals enroute to two decisive victories. The Canes defeatd Pocono 8-3 on Saturday and defeated the Haverford Hawks 9-4 on Sunday. The team is getting balanced scoring from all three lines to go along with a solid defense and goaltending.

Randy Rangione had a goal and four assists, and Nick Anderson had two goals and an assist to lead Temple over Rutgers-Camden 7-1 in a college game played at the Coliseum on Saturday afternoon. The Owls took an early 1-0 lead as Mike Hufford scored a power play goal with Anderson and Rangione assisting. That lead lasted just over three minutes as Adam Lemma scored from the blue line to tie the score at 1-1.

High School Bowling: Friday, December 17, 1999

Senior Mike Fish led Pennsauken to a 3-1 victory over host Cherry Hill East. Mike bowled games of 204, 203, and 211 for a series of 618. Sean Perkins, also of Pennsauken, bowled a game of 236.

High School Basketball: Friday, December 17, 1999
PRESS RELEASE Some of the most successful basketball programs in South Jersey, including five defending South Jersey champions, are in the field for the 2nd annual Prime Events Tipoff Weekend at Egg Harbor Township High School. The boy-girl event will be held from December 17-19.
Leading the way is St. Augustine Prep, which won the state Parochial B boys title in March and has won three straight South Jersey championships. The Prep will face another three-time South Jersey champion - Rancocas Valley in Group 4 - during Saturday's Tipoff finale.

Whenever you hear the word "touchdown", several images come to mind. One could be the quarterback dropping back for a touchdown pass or a spectacular run that sends the fans out of their seats. In order for those plays to happen, the responsibility starts with those guys at the front line. The offensive line from Camden Catholic represent all linemen who rarely get recognized for a job well done after that scoring drive.

High School Ice Hockey: Monday, December 13, 1999

Mike Becker scored a natural hat trick in leading Eastern to a 6-3 win over Lenape in a SJHSIHL game played on Monday night at the Coliseum. Becker opened the scoring as he scored on a breakaway after being sent in by Tom Fadako three minutes into the game. Two minutes later Becker banged home a rebound goal after a scramble in front of the net. The assists went to Ryan Sullivan and Adam Esfahani and the period ended at 2-0.
