South Jersey Soccer: Sunday, March 12, 2000

A soccer match played in early March usually means one thing, a lot of wind. At game time on March 12th was no exception. The Vineland Under-13 boys traveling soccer team hosted Mt. Laurel at the Vineland Soccer Complex with winds of 15 to 20 mph blowing down the field. The gusty winds seemed appropriate with two teams named the "Hurricanes" (V), and the "Storm" (ML).

High School Ice Hockey: Wednesday, March 8, 2000

Gunnar Fox and Mike Gooch each scored two goals as Clearview defeated Washington Township 7-5 to win their first SJHSIHL championship. Buddy Anderson paced the Township attack with one goal and four assists. Township scored first, as Mike Schauffele converted an Anderson pass, but Clearview would carry the play for most of the period. John Meenan intercepted a clearing pass and ripped a shot inside the left post to tie the game at 1-1.

High School Boys Basketball: Tuesday, March 7, 2000

This was it, the No. 7 seeded Camden Panthers going up against the No. 1 seeded Lakewood Piners in the boy's basketball South Jersey Group 3 championship. After disposing of Moorestown in the semi-finals, Lakewood had their sights set on the high scoring Panthers. Camden's road to the championship was reached with ease. DaJuan Wagner was unstoppable as he lead Camden to an 89-64 victory to claim the title.
