The seventh-seeded Millville Thunderbolts came to Overbrook looking to upset the top-seeded Rams in the Group 4 semifinals. Millville had upset then undefeated Ocean City just two weeks earlier. But this Overbrook team was on a mission, and their defense stepped up to keep the Thunderbolts' from scoring until there was only 45 seconds left in the game. The Rams moved on to the finals with a 21-6 victory.

Who said high school football was not exciting and full of surprises? In a contest with the Shawnee Renegades at the Cherokee Chiefs, the second half of this game proved to be the most exciting half for the home crowd. Finally getting something to cheer about and keeping themselves warm, the crowd watched the Chiefs try to erase a 22 point deficit. But the Renegades defense came up big and held off Cherokee for a 22-15 victory in a South Jersey Group 4 semifinal game.

There was plenty of action going on at Haddon Heights High School where a Group 2 semifinal football game took place. The Garnets of Haddon Heights jumped out to an early lead only to see it disappear. The Deptford Spartans did not panic when they were down 14 points in the first half. They managed to stick to their controlled ball game and defeated Haddon Heights 18-14.

The Cherry Hill East team only let in ten goals the entire season. Unfortunately they let in five of them in the last two games. The Bridgewater-Raritan boys undaunted by a 1-0 Cherry Hill lead, tied the game in regulation and put in the final goal of the game in with only minutes remaining in the final overtime. It was a sad finish on a fine season for the Cougars and sent the Panthers to the State finals.
